The Patterson Advantage

Patterson Mold and Tool’s manufacturing capabilities have been developed and honed over the last 30 plus years with the focus on servicing the die cast industry with quality tooling.

We produce our tools with proven machining techniques on modern equipment including continuous 5-axis machines. To ensure quality, value and consistency, all tools are cut using CNC machines programmed from solid models and verified with direct drive CMM’s.

We have a purpose built, modern facility with a full compliment of machinery that includes CNC vertical and horizontal spindles, CNC lathes, precision grinders, tool-room mills, horizontal boring mills, ram and traveling wire EDM’s. Traveling overhead cranes cover the entire manufacturing facility. Our biggest manufacturing asset is our people and the quality systems they created.

All of Patterson’s manufacturing processes are controlled, scheduled and tracked with barcode technology; this helps us to ensure our delivery dates are met along with collecting data to continuously improve our processes and products.

Patterson Shop

History

Patterson Mold & Tool was founded in 1978 by Stan and Ralph Patterson. They set up shop in downtown St. Louis with 4 employees (including themselves) in a 3,100 sq. ft. building.

After two moves to larger facilities, they built the present special purpose building (38,000 sq. ft.) in 1995. Following building expansions in 2013 and 2015, the facility now encompasses over 51,500 sq. ft. The company presently employs 90+ employees and is now a division of Pace Industries.

The firm has kept current with technology and equipment; it has moved with the market trends to keep it a viable, engaged, and cost-effective tool shop.
